Doobyis and DJ Dice are back with another album, this time more polished, focused, and cohesive, featuring 8 tracks intended as a reintroduction to a classic sound. The duo haven't been active in the Alberta HIp Hop scene since 2016, when they released their first collaboration album, and the time since has been well spent in preparation. The "Double Duty" album is a collection of songs with the same respect to the traditions of Hip Hop that listeners have come to expect from the D&D pairing. Lead single "Boom Boom Bap" features a guest verse from Kos, and finds the pair of emcees reminiscing over a soulful beat produced by Prosper while "These Days" is a funk driven analysis of the expectations of modern Hip Hop. When DJ Dice handles the production on 3 of the tracks, the sound is sparse, tense, and punctuated by the philosophical pondering and free flow thought patterns of Doobyis, a veteran lyricist with roots planted on the prairies.
